Data loggers are devices that automatically record various environmental parameters over time. In this way, environmental conditions can be measured, documented, analyzed and verified. The GSM groundwater data logger consists of a sensor and a data chip. The sensor records the information and the chip stores the data. These values are transferred to a server for further processing and analysis.
The sensor measures water pressure, temperature and conductivity. The water column can be easily calculated from the water pressure. The water column above the sensor is determined by the measured pressure. Since the depth of the sensor is known, the distance of the water surface with respect to the top edge of the measuring tube can be calculated. This corresponds to a manual measurement. If a temperature sensor is present in the pressure sensor, the temperature is also measured.
Important for the measurement are the measuring ranges. These start at 5 m and can be extended up to 60 m. The cable length is always made to measure. The range of the sensor depends on the cable length.
Standard versions are:
-
Sensor with a 5 m range and 5 m cable
-
Sensor with a 10 m range and 10 cables
-
Sensor with a 15 m range and 15 m cable
- Sensor with a 20 m range and 29 m cable
