The pilot probe is installed in the steering head of the directional pressing system and transmits information wirelessly to the vLoc3 receiver from a depth of up to 4 m, enabling the operator to steer the steering head safely. With the Pilot Probe System, the probe position, probe depth, tilt and roll angle as well as the battery status of the probe can be shown on the locating receiver display. The locating receiver is used for pre-location, probe location (walk over) and post-location. Pre-location is used for terrain sounding, probe location for directional press control during operation and post-location for checking and geographical calibration.
